Ninety guests attended the 50th anniversary celebrations held at the Victoria Hall, Hartley Wintney on Saturday 25 June 2016.

Ranil Jayawardena MP attended the drinks reception and welcomed guests to the evening of celebrations before leaving for a separate engagement. Wanda Tucker, our only founder member, gave her personal memories of how the village has changed and the creation of the Hartley Wintney Preservation Society.  Jonathan Glen, Raconteur, gave an amusing talk of his 'royal' memories.  The Heir of the Dog provided musical entertainment during the evening - Wanda has known Vernon Dudley Bohay Newell since the early 1960s and he was famous for the 'Bonzo Dog Doodah Band'. Excellent catering was provided by the Whitewater Catering Company. Thanks must go to the Victoria Hall Charity, West Green House, Auriol Wines, Whitewater Plant Centre and the Hartley Wintney Barbers and Ladies Hairdressers for providing raffle prizes.

Engraved paperweights were presented to the longstanding members of the Committee:  Martin Holmes, Mike Homer, Chris Griffin, Mark Sallis, Wanda Tucker, Louise Cox, Susan Band, Barbara Broadway. Marie Walton accepted a gift for Margaret Gorsky who was unable to attend the celebration.
